The End is Nigh... 10 years and out!
As the regulars will be aware the attendance at Damage Inc. has fallen quite a lot in the last year, as such I have decided that we have come to the
end of the road.
This is a decision made by myself and agreed by the DJs, just to be clear we have not been pushed out by Rock City, they have done us a great service
in allowing us to run Damage for all this time!
So... the end of an era then!? This coming March Damage Inc. would have been celebrating it's 10th Birthday so we have decided that would be a
suitable time to run the very last Damage Inc. The final dates will be:
Thursday 7th January 2010
Thursday 4th February 2010
Thursday 4th March 2010
You've got 3 more Damage Inc.s to come along and enjoy, so please make the most of them, book those Friday's off work, send us your requests and
let's party like it's 2nd March 2000!
\m/
There's one way out if you dare, we'll make a deal, you'll grow your hair, as Satan's Child you'll start a band and spread
the word across the land!

I echo Anthony's sentiments
This is sad. I'm not aware of any metal nights as good as Damage in Notts. There is Assault, but I've never been so I don't know what it's like.

It is sad, but we're going on our terms, which is nice (there have been many times when I really didn't think we would make it this far!).
I wouldn't despair too much, if there are enough people missing Damage I'm sure there will be something else to take it's place, but it is time for
a change!

It is such a shame. Having being all around the country to wuite a few different metal nights, I can say that Damage is one of the best. The music is
fairly unmatched because the DJ's at these other places dont tend to know alot of it or the night is ran by a Rock Society meaning the music is stuff
that is played within friend groups.
Assault isnt bad at all, but it is very varied interms of what music is played. Lets hope something does come again. I Never got around to going to
Therapy? and now Junction 7 has closed that request based night has also gone.
What do you guys think made the numbers reduce? When I first started going 3-4 years ago, it was doing well, always lots of people there?
Anyways, best of luck for the future! I shall endeveour to be at the last 3!

I think that a lot of things affected the numbers, not least my own inability to do a lot to promote the night as time went on, I'll hold my hands up
and say that it got too difficult for me as I got older, I don't spend time handing round flyers like I used to, or constantly bugging City to do
it!
On top of that there's also...
A general change in the culture of going out! (people don't bother so much anymore!)
The metal scene becoming much more segregated.
An aging and work-bound set of Damage goers.
Being moved from night to night causing confusion.
The Rocksocs tending to have their own nights.
Blah, blah, blah. I could go on and on!

Sad, sad news.
I know that I fall into the "aging and work-bound set of Damage goers" category.
Really would have liked to have kept up my attendance as it was in the old days but just couldn't do it.
Hopefully something else will come along.
Thanks a lot to Jen and all the DJs for so many excellent (and drunken!) nights.
R.I.P. Damage Inc.
Taken By Wolves are defunct now, so just drink Bourbon!!
